Sunshine Retreat here I come!!

Hello Followers,
Hope this Monday finds you well. My excitement is building as the weekend approaches. I'll be off to Virginia Beach Friday, with family members and friends for what we believe to be the best scrapbook retreat ever attended.  I have high hopes to get a lot done to share with you soon. Sunshine Retreats also host ones in Colonial Williamsburg, which are smaller and just as much fun, but nothing beats the ocean view from our crafting room. Makes for a great relaxing weekend of scrapbooking. In the meantime, here are cards from our November card swap.

Hope you wonderful Thanksgiving.

Lea France scrapbook pages

The first two pages using the Lea France  Rose Window Stencil.
The Pink Cadillac is a restaurant in Southwestern Virginia near the Natural Bridge.
50's style décor with a lot of Elvis pictures, records etc.  Great food.

This next page is of our visit to White Oaks Lavender Farm in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Beautiful grounds and the lavender fields has passed their peak since it was late August but
our granddaughter enjoyed seeing all the animals. For years her favorite sandwich has been
strawberry jam and peanut butter but since tasting their Blackberry Lavender Jam, it's now
her favorite. So much so, that I have ordered more from their web site.

Below is the package the template comes in showing three
other layouts one can use.

I love using the Lea France technique but my all time favorite is
Mosaic Moments which I used on the next two pages.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed.

Lea France Technique

These scrapbook pages were created using Lea France templates. Their web site
            www.LeaFrance.com  has many different templates.
Here I used the  third edition of the Stained Glass Stencil.
Pictures were taken when we went to Canada for our anniversary.

I also purchased Rose Garden template,  which I will be using next.
Until then, thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Thank You Cards

Recently celebrated another birthday.
My, they seem to roll around more frequent.
Mojo Monday 312 is my inspiration for the following card;
 one masculine,  one feminine.

I used paper scraps left over from a recent scrapbook retreat
which worked perfectly for these cards.

Till next time.

Growing Up

Our little girl is growing up way too fast!!

Mojo Monday 310 was my inspiration for this layout.

This afternoon I will be getting my supplies and pictures
ready for an all day crop tomorrow.

I will be using the Lea France technique
which I hope to share with you soon. It's a bit more
complicated to do than Mosaic Moments.

Baby Carriage Upgrade

After looking at the carriage, I decided it was not complete.

Using the Cricut cartridge "Straight From The Nest" set  at 1 1/2 inches, I cut six of the following,

(Second key from the left on the bottom row)

Cut where indicated with the black marks to end up
 with six of these.

Layer and  glue three together which will give
you one for each side of the carriage.
After inking the edges, glue in position, one on each side.
Cut the ends off a round toothpick to desired length,
 then hot glue in place.

I chalked these heavier than the other features on the
carriage as I wanted them to stand out more.

Hope you like my completed project!!

Mini Baskets and Baby Buggy

Just completed ten of these mini baskets as favor holders for
my ladies group at our monthly luncheon next week.
Inspiration came from a post I saw on Pinterest. Go to bing.com and enter
thelittleblueroom , select choice for make-take-monday, to view
directions and great step by step pictures.

I make half a second basket to create this baby carriage.
I used a one inch circle and gold brad to attach the
hood to the carriage base. For each wheel,
layer three 1 3/4 inch circles, score across to give appearance
of spokes, then attached with brads.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Challenge #303

Got back from vacation in time to design a scrapbook page for this week's entry.

We spent our 55th Anniversary in Niagara Falls, New York and Canada.
First day spent viewing the Falls, lunch at Top of the Falls Restaurant then a drive up to Niagara on the Lake. What a charming town and I have some great pictures for the scrapbook,
Second day, we drove to Toronto.

Summer Fun

We finally got the yard work completed, followed by painting bedrooms and a hallway to prepare for new carpet, which caused me to put a hold on my MOJO Monday Projects.
Believe me, I was beginning to have withdrawal!!!

MOJO Monday Challenge # 300. What a milestone. I have truly enjoyed the weekly challenges and hope they will be around for another 300.

Summer Fun is the theme for my card and just in time as temperatures are heating up here on the east coast after a month of rain, rain and more rain.

I used scraps of salmon and green and the printed paper is from a DCWV Summer Stack I purchased several years ago. The ice cream cones purchased at a craft show.

Here's hoping your summer is filled with lots of backyard cookouts, picnics, and  homemade ice cream.

June Card Swap

We have continued to be very busy with the landscaping, which was completed this past Friday and now we are  painting three  bedrooms and a hall to prepare for new carpet July 2nd.
But, I was able to take a break from that and go to the June Card Swap. Hope you will enjoy seeing the variety of styles and techniques.

Cricut project

4th of July Card using ribbon and paper squares then stamping and cutting out the star.

Christmas Crab.
The snow effect made using Versa Mark ink, embossing powder and heat, which was a first for me.

I believe most of this is done with Stampin Up products. The rosettes are made with their new sculpting molds and material. Very pretty but difficult to find an adhesive or pop dot  that would hold them in place.

This final card is mine. The laser cut design  came from the inside of a Hallmark Valentine which I cut down to fit inside the Spellbinder Oval cut out. Sentiment computer generated and punched out using  Stampin Up Modern Label punch.
Hope you enjoy viewing.

Card Swap and Scrapbooking Weekend

I want to share with you the cards I got at a recent card swap. Just a small group of friends gathering at a local church. We came away with a  nice variety and  great techniques to share,  using Stampin Up, Creative Memories and Cricut products

This last card is mine and for many, their first time to color using Copic Markers.

The weekend scrapbook retreat was held in Williamsburg, Virginia hosted by SunShine Retreats. This was a much smaller group than what normally attends but we sure did have loads of fun.
Since using Tami Potter's  Mosaic Moments technique, I have begun to experiment with other shapes. My favorite being the hexagon.

For the background paper on the next two pages, I took  12"x12" sheets in two colors, laid one on  top of the other then cut across from top to bottom and side to side. I removed every other section of the top sheet then every other bottom sheet until I had alternating colors as seen. I think it made for an interesting background.

I matted each picture on white cardstock  and the lettering was done with  Printing 101 Cricut Cartrige. We were celebrating our granddaughter's birthday at the Surf Rider Restaurant in Hampton, Virginia.

I hope you will enjoy.
