Christmas in July - Friday Mashup 69

Friday Mashup is Christmas in July with the hope that it would make us feel cooler during this heat wave---------it worked for awhile!   Design stamped on white cardstock, colored with copic markers then matted with red cardstock and attached with pop dots.
The challenge was to either make a card or "mashup" by also decorating the inside of the card.

The candlestick and sentiment stamps were purchased from Michael's $1.00 bin. I  love challenges as they inspire  me to dig through my stash and use items that have been accumulating for a number of years.

Mojo Challenge #251

Since my three background shapes are colorful but plain, I used one of the dies from Spellbinders Floral Burst  to make the medallion. These are so neat;  you cut, fold and tuck. To add contrast, I adhered the medallion onto a black circle. The warm wishes sentiment was computer generated and the butterfly made with the mini butterfly punch from Creative Memories. I punched  one butterfly in yellow and one in black.  I cut away the wing part on the black butterfly which left the center body part and antennas to glue onto the yellow one.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge 139

Once I chose my paper colors, following this weeks sketch layout make it so easy to assemble my card. I love the scroll design of the EK border punch as it reminds me of wrought iron railing.  The senitment is stamped  with one of the mini clear stamps from my stash and the flowers and embellishments are from Creative Memories.

Smooth Sailing

The minute I saw the template for Mojo Challenge #250, I knew just what I wanted to do.
I purchased this Sail Away Stampin Up stamp, #123013 sometime ago and am thrilled to finally use it. Besides the red, blues, orange and white cardstock, I used a Jolee's Boutique Seagull sticker and created the sentiment on my computer.

I am able to enter this in The Friday Mashup Challenge 67 since it contains banners.

Mojo Monday Challenge

Have you ever posted your entry to a challenge and then didn't like it?  Well, this happened to me this week. My first entry was done with pastel paper which did not photograph well.
For this card, I chose the Cuttlebug "Mandarin Screen" embossing plate " to do my paper then added pieces of brown and orange polka dot ribbon. The milkcan  stamp is one I had picked up at
Michaels some years ago which I colored using copic markers G07 Nile Green, YR16 Apricot and BG93 Green Gray. The sentiment is computer generated then I added three orange crytal embellishments.

Thanks a Million

This challenge was quite a task for me and am sorry the pastel colors and embossing don't show up well. Not only am I entering this in the Mojo Monday Challenge, am also entering this card in the Use It Tuesday Blog Challenge. I dug into my stash of unused materials and was amazed at how long I had some of these items that were purchased or received as a gift as far back as 2007!!!
Materials used were; Clear Mini stamps for the sentiment, Martha Stewart mat pad solid and plaid paper, Cuttlebug Asian Basket Weave embossing plate,  Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Frame, Recollections Floral embellishment, Creative Memories Enchanted die cut paper ribbon and pink rhinestones.

PPA 138 Challenge

Paper Pal Arts Challenge 138 is based on the following colors;
Daffodil  Delight, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.
I cut the flower using Stampin Up Blossom punch then added a black button for the center.
"For My Friend" sentiment using a Studio g stamp then added buttons to match  the color scheme.
I molded the petals of the blossom for dimension and attached with a pop dot.

Fifty one years ago today, our daughter was born in LaChapelle-St. Mesmin, France. I presented her with this card today when we had a family gathering for dinner  at our local Red Lobster   She is very dear to us and has made us so proud all these years.

Mojo Monday Challenge #248

Since this card will be for a fall birthday, I chose brown and orange paper. The decorative border is made with a Martha Stewart punch, Starform gold "Happy Birthday" lettering  on the large oval then added a Prima Flower and a Creative Memories  Divine Epoxy Sticker for the flower center.

MY "Beat the Heat" Projects

With the extreme heat wave we were having last weekend, staying indoors and crafting was a great way to stay cool!
I always kept a copy of the weekly Mojo Monday challenges which I used as inspiration for the following cards.  Hope you will enjoy viewing.

With this card I wish you a safe and happy 4th.
