As I was thinking how I would use Mojo Monday Challenge #273, I heard our neighbors in central Pennsylvania were getting snow at the rate of an inch per hour. That made me think "Brrr....it's cold outside". The blue paper with an array of different snowflake patterns is the perfect background. The blue scalloped circle made with Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge flower at 3 1/2".
The sentiment is computer generated then cut out using the 2 1/2" Stampin Up punch.
Someone had given me the Dept.56 icicles which came in a long strip so I cut the desired length needed, glued in place, then adhered the blue paper strip, white ribbon and bow. Snowflake is made with a Martha Steward punch, covered with" icicle" Stickles, let dry completely then attached with a pop dot.

Inside of the card reads   "but thoughts of you warm my heart."

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you and yours a very blessed 2013.

Christmas Cards

These Christmas cards were designed using Mojo Monday Challenge #272.
I began with a 4x6 card from white cardstock then adhered the patterned paper that measured  1/8 inch less in length and width.  Next, I cut a  solid color rectangle, attached  the Holiday Beads metal charms, ribbon and bow.
These cards were given to my bosses and a co-worker at our office party.
To you and yours, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Holiday Card-Mojo Design #269

When I first chose this patterned paper, I was not sure the pink would work for a Christmas card. I added pink and red rectangles bordered with cream paper to make them stand out more. The green behind these rectangles is the top of the patterned paper.  The poinsettia was fashioned using the McGill Blossom making kit. I edged the leaves with darker colors using copic markers and added gold beads to the center. The sentiment is a 2009 Stampin Up rubber stamp.

Happy Birthday

MoJo Monday Challenge 268, was ideal template for making this birthday card. I used papers from my scrap bin for the background and circles then added a creative Memories "Enchanted" paper flower and crystal embellishment. Circles cut using Stampin Up 2 1/2", 1 1/4" and 1" punches.
"Happy Birthday" is a gold Starform Outline Sticker.

Be Thankful

As Thanksgiving approaches, I am so thankful for many blessings in my life.
My daughter, two friends and I are in Virginia Beach this weekend for the Sunshine Scrapbook  Retreat. Our scrapbooking room overlooks the ocean and as the waves come ashore, I think of those who lost so much during Hurricane Sandy. Our thoughts and prayers are for them.
For Mojo Monday Challenge 267,  I selected papers in fall colors from a DCWV Fall Scrapbooking kit, added a Creative Memories Reminisce paper flower, embellished with a button, then added the computer generated sentiment. Finishing touch is the ribbon which was part of the above mentioned kit.

Seasons Greetings

Mojo Monday Challenge #266 was a breeze using scraps of papers and embellishments left over from past years Christmas projects. The scalloped circle made with a Stampin Up punch . After attaching the metal tree to the center of the circle, I adhered to the card using a pop dot. The  Poinsettia is a Recollections dimensional sticker and the sentiment sticker left over from a Christmas Card making kit.

Season's Greetings

MoJo Monday Challenge #265 is the perfect layout for  this Cardinal I colored some months ago. I am a novice at using copic markers but am very pleased with the results. He is a 2005 Stampin Up rubber stamp. Copic markers used were R27 Cadmium Red, G07 Nile Green, and E49 Dark Bark. The Pointsettia is make with the Cricut Joy of the Season cartridge, cutting white on the blackout setting, then several in red and green. I  highlighted the leaves with copic markers, and glued a cluster of gold beads in the center. The sentimenty is computer generated using the AR Berkley font.

Halloween Treats

What a healthy Halloween treat for my Granddaughter's class. I used Mandarin Orange containers by Clover Valley (four to a pack for $2.00)  that I picked up at Dollar General. Theirs doesn't  have black writting on the tops as some brands. Jack O Lantern  features were cut out using a Stampin Up punch then glued on. I made 25 for her class plus some extras as past years teachers always ask to be included.
Happy Halloween

FM#77  theme is Indian Summer and we can "Mashup" by using three of the following paper colors; "Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade & Early Espresso".

I chose, Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Early Espresso.
The leaves punched from More Mustard, drew veins with a stylus then traced over them with a brown lead pencil. After chalking the edges, I used the McGill molding mat and large ball stylus to curl the leaves. Indian Summer sentiment done on the computer.

Welcome Fall

Yesterday may have been  the first day of fall but we sure couldn't tell that as we attended our granddaughter's soccer game. It was rather mild as I took my two mile walk early this morning but as the hours have passed, we can tell temperatures are cooling down. Yay!!
This cool weather along with Mojo Monday Challenge #259 is my inspiration for this card.
Tools used;
Scrappin Cottage 4x4 Wagon Wheel w/Pumpkins die
Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge for the scalloped circle
George and Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge for the large circle
Scraps of paper in fall colors and pattern
Computer generated sentiment
I highlighted details on the pumpkins and wagon wheel then chalked all edges.

Fall Birthday Card

I chose to eliminate one of the shapes in this week's MoJo Monday Challenge 257 as my card became  too "busy". Paper color choices are white, black, orange and an orange/brown  plaid. The sentiments are computer generated.
Tools used are Creative Memories leaf punch, Fiskar scalloped edge punch and two sizes of Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scallops. I chalked the edges of the sentiment circle and leaves then  curled  the leaf edges using the McGill Paper Blossom molding pad and small ball stylus. I don't think this shows up in the picture but adds a lot of dimension.

Halloween Card

Some weeks good intentions just don't work out. I made the following card for MoJo Monday Challenge 256 but failed to meet the posting deadline. Hope you will enjoy.

I chose to do the square version. White cardstock  measures 10 x 5 inches then folded in half to form the 5x5inch card. The plaid paper is 4 3/4 inch square,  then added purple, brown and black banners.
The cat stamp is a Ben Frankinl purchase years ago and the owl is a Martha Stewart punch. Spooky lettering is from a Scrappin Cottage Haunted House 4 x 4 die. I added a small piece of orange behind the owls eyes and outlined around the owl with brown ink for added dimension.

Friday Mashup 73

This weeks challenge requires the use of certain Stampin Up papers which I don't have, (I'm placing an order Monday with my consultant for ALL the solid colors) but I looked through my stash and came up with colors very close to the ones in the pillows. Notice the colors of the bubbles in the picture!! I punched the flower from a 3" square of blue then softened and curled the petals using the McGill Paper Blossom molding mat and large ball stylus then chalked the edges. I tied on a button using brown twine and attached the flower with pop dots for dimension.  The left over blue square gave me the mat for the picture! Summer Fun sentiments are computer generated.

Sweet Treat

Pepperment candy! Now that brings back childhood memories. Our stocking were always filled with fruit and nuts and if any candy, it would always be peppermint.

PPA 141  sketch challenge

In keeping with the peppermint theme, I used the candy stripe background paper then added strips of red. For the lollipop, I used Stampin Up 3/4" punch and cut out 15 circles, overlapped and glued  into a circle . Added star dust Stickles to the white areas then glued to a lollipop stick. Tied a simple bow and added the computer generated sentiment.

Use It Tuesday Challenge

In 2009 I had  printed out  a page layout done by Julia Moss on the Cricut web site so when I saw this weeks challenge from Use It Tuesday , I knew exactly what I wanted to try.
I began with the blue sky 12" x 12" paper. The gray cardstock was cut using the Creative Memories wave tearing tool and I drew the broken lines with a white lead pencil.
Following Cricut cartridges and setting were used;
Locker Talk - school bus- 3 1/2 inch, notebook paper- 2 1/2, 3 and 3 1/2 inch.
Zooballoo -grass 1 1/4 inch and tree at 5 inch (then I flipped before putting on the page and cut away left branches.)
Printing 101 - bus driver and students cut at 1 1/4 inch.
Beyond Birthdays - boy and girl cut at 2 inch
Doodlecharms - Sun at 3 3/4 inch.
I am so happy with the completed project. The notebook pages can be for comments or area to paste pictures.

The following picture is Julia Moss' page that gave me my inspiration.

Fall is in the air

Fall is in the air--------------
well, not quite but August will soon end and  cooler temperatures will be on the way.
This weeks Mojo Monday challenge 254 layout was ideal for this theme. I had a Fall Scrapbooking Kit from Retail, Inc. that contained the patterned papers and the leaf ribbon. The sentiment is stamped with a Studio g clear mini stamp and the metal green leaf I happen to have on hand. Final touch is the three gold brads in the left hand corner. All this mounted on the orange brown and tan in keeping with the fall color scheme.

Friday Mashup 71

Our challenge this week is to make a project using black and white or bling or "mash it up" by using black and white with bling. I chose the latter and on this card I used black and white paper for the background then added Creative Memories black and white paper flowers. The center of the large flower is a "Soar" epoxy sticker from Studio 18.  I added three black pearls in the upper right hand corner and white pearls in the center of the small white flowers.

Mojo Challenge 253

I love the layout for this weeks challenge and had so much fun deciding what type of card this would be. I purchased this Inky Antics Turtle Stamp at a show several years ago and am so pleased at how he turned out.  He is stamped on white cardstock, colored with  Copic Markers, punched out with a circle punch and mounted on a scalloped edge circle that was created with my Cricut, using  Sweet Treats cartridge, Flower/shadow setting, cut at 2 1/2 inches.
The turtle print ribbon is from a variety pack I found in the dollar bins at our local Target. I drew the seam stitching on all the edges and the sentiment was generated on my computer.
The sentiment on the inside of the card was also computer generated.
This little turtle is from  Dimensions  Mini Stamps #98065. Isn't he adorable!

Friday Mashup 70

This weeks challenge is to make a project using a  Stick Pin In It,  Vintage  Project with a Stick Pin In It or Mash It Up and do both.
Materials used are a Studio g rubber stamp for the sentiment, Fiskars punch to make the double edged lace border, (which gives it a Victorian lace look), colorful striped ribbon and stick on pearl accents.
I taped the ribbon over the lace then attached the bow with a pearl tipped stick pin. Choice for background papers were taken from the colors in the ribbon.

PPA Challenge 140

This week Pals Paper Art challenge is to use Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist and Real Red.
I don't have the exact colors but think my selections for the three squares comes very close.
The background paper, ice cream cone, drink glass, sweet treat and summertime stickers are from
DCWV Summer speciality paper and sticker packets purchased from Joann's several years ago.

This also qualifies for entry in the USE IT TUESDAY CHALLENGE  as I cut the background paper from the following 12 x 12 uncut  scrapbook paper.

Mojo Monday Challenge 252

Our challenge this week is to  use the round or square template so I decided to do a 12 x 12  scrapbook page.
This picture was taken for my Granddaughter's 9th birthday. The polka dot paper reminds me of sprinkles then I picked up the colors of the ice cream cone on her shirt. The two sentiments are from a
DCWV Summer Speciality Sticker Stack purchased at Joann's several years ago.

Christmas in July - Friday Mashup 69

Friday Mashup is Christmas in July with the hope that it would make us feel cooler during this heat wave---------it worked for awhile!   Design stamped on white cardstock, colored with copic markers then matted with red cardstock and attached with pop dots.
The challenge was to either make a card or "mashup" by also decorating the inside of the card.

The candlestick and sentiment stamps were purchased from Michael's $1.00 bin. I  love challenges as they inspire  me to dig through my stash and use items that have been accumulating for a number of years.

Mojo Challenge #251

Since my three background shapes are colorful but plain, I used one of the dies from Spellbinders Floral Burst  to make the medallion. These are so neat;  you cut, fold and tuck. To add contrast, I adhered the medallion onto a black circle. The warm wishes sentiment was computer generated and the butterfly made with the mini butterfly punch from Creative Memories. I punched  one butterfly in yellow and one in black.  I cut away the wing part on the black butterfly which left the center body part and antennas to glue onto the yellow one.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge 139

Once I chose my paper colors, following this weeks sketch layout make it so easy to assemble my card. I love the scroll design of the EK border punch as it reminds me of wrought iron railing.  The senitment is stamped  with one of the mini clear stamps from my stash and the flowers and embellishments are from Creative Memories.

Smooth Sailing

The minute I saw the template for Mojo Challenge #250, I knew just what I wanted to do.
I purchased this Sail Away Stampin Up stamp, #123013 sometime ago and am thrilled to finally use it. Besides the red, blues, orange and white cardstock, I used a Jolee's Boutique Seagull sticker and created the sentiment on my computer.

I am able to enter this in The Friday Mashup Challenge 67 since it contains banners.
